Garlic Farm Visit

Pull on your “wellies” and get ready to breathe in the fresh country air! Join local garlic grower Dennis Donahue on his farm above Cayuga Lake to learn about the history and benefits of garlic, how to plant it, and when to harvest it.

Nutrient-dense and revered for its medicinal properties for thousands of years, garlic can combat colds and reduce blood pressure. Since 2007, Dennis and his family have used organic growing practices to produce some of the tastiest heirloom garlic around, taking advantage of the rich Honeoye soil of the Finger Lakes.

Your personalized, hands-on farming experience for two to four guests will include:

• Two hours on the farm with Dennis
• Two pounds of garlic from the farm to take home
• Garlic recipes from our chefs

$200 for two guests
$50 per guest additional fee for up to four guests

In addition to your farm visit, plant your own “100” clove row of garlic. Dennis and his team will harvest the bounty from your garlic row and ship it home to you: garlic scapes​ come in early June and bulbs in August after drying. Want to bring the experience full circle? Come back and harvest your scapes and bulbs yourselves! Your personalized, hands-on farming experience for two guests will include:

• Two hours on the farm with Dennis
• Guided planting of your own 100 clove row
• Harvesting and shipping of scapes in early June
• Harvesting of bulbs in July for drying
• Shipping of dried bulbs in August

$400 for two guests with shared harvest
