June 22, 2019 @ 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM
Join Patrick Higgins and Grace Mattingly at Aurora Cooks—the Inns of Aurora’s stunning new demonstration kitchen—for a relaxed and educational tasting experience. After a champagne toast, gather around the island or have a seat at a nearby table as though you’re at a chef’s home kitchen and enjoy all of the comforts afforded by an outstanding host.
With delectable tastes and take-away tips for applying expert techniques in your own home, this 90-minute demonstration is an engaging and intimate culinary experience. Enjoy a glass or two of wine, a craft beer, or a hand-blended cup of tea as you watch, learn, and taste the magic behind a truly well-made meal.
In this edition of Aurora Cooks, we’ll explore Caribbean Cooking.
Caribbean food represents one of the world’s most diverse and exciting culinary styles. It’s a fusion of many cultural influences from around the world, including flavors and ingredients from India, Africa, Spain, China, and the Middle East. Each dish is a scavenger hunt of intersecting histories. What we call “Caribbean food” is itself made up of dozens of different local variations on popular dishes – a rich tradition of culinary creativity. You could spend a lifetime exploring the food of this region; in this cooking demonstration, we’ll explore just a few of these wonderful dishes.Common Ingredients: most are available at any grocery store

- Sweet potato
- Tropical fruits (papaya, mango, ACKEE, breadfruit ect.)
- Fish & shellfish
